Front Desk Administrator

We are looking for a friendly, professional and hard-working person to join our team as a Front Desk Administrator. Experience is an asset, but not required.

We are a locally-owned private optometry practice that has been serving downtown Victoria for more than 30 years.  Our goals are excellence in caring for our patients, caring for each other and caring for the community we serve.

Our ideal candidate is professional, able to read people and make them feel comfortable, has a passion for helping people and an active interest in health, vision and fashion. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, efficient, organized with  excellent communication skills.   They will need to be a fast learner with an ability to adapt to help meet patient needs.

  • Active listening, compassion and patience while relating well with a diverse range of people
  • Able to remember names, faces and personal stories
  • Multitasking in a very busy environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows based computers and strong keyboarding skills
  • Accountable and self-aware
  • Able to work independently within a collaborative team context

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Primary first point of contact for patients
  • Situational awareness and coordination of patient flow through their visit
  • Handling incoming telephone, email and fax inquiries
  • Coordination of follow-up communication with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Administrative tasks related to patient needs
  • General office administration

Clinic hours are generally Monday – Friday, 8 am – 6pm.
This is an entry-level, full-time, permanent position.
